Back to school. XD

Back to school. This line seems to be quite common, or rather lame. But I am really back to school. I took the results of the earlier mid-year examination this week. The results were okay except for Chinese which I need to struggle and improve it abit. Abit wasn't even enough, I reckon. Being a Chinese but can't get excellent result for Chinese is kinda weird to me. I don't wanna be a banana. LOL. Otherwise, my result sheet can be a lot weirder with that B+.

Damn, I hate myself for being that into FIFA World Cup. Fever indeed. I was watching football matches everyday. This year, World Cup was certainly interesting with all those unexpected turnovers and upset. Italy and France checked out and booked air tickets home early in group stage. The reigning champion was not up to Slovakia's challenge. Surprisingly, South Africa sweep France home with their first win in World Cup. Both Italy and France can't even get a win this year. Weird. England made an early exit too after losing to Germany strong side. One thing for sure, that shot by Lampard was certainly in and a GOAL, but the referee didn't gave it. That was so controversial that replay can even confirm it. That's what made World Cup more interesting. Portugal's complete dominance over North Korea was even impressing. Gonna watch Netherlands tonight. XD

After all, my life's mine. I live the way I want it to be. I am happy with my results but I know that I can do better, hopefully in SPM - I can get straight As. My future will not be entirely determined by destiny or luck. I write my own future. I walk my own way. XD

p/s: Dickson's back. Hee.

Youth Empowerment Camp (YEC) - Day 2

It was an early morning when I woke up. I took my breakfast in the multipurpose hall(MPH). Then, I listened to what Mr.Boh and Dr.Sia had to say. They talked a great deal on change and passion. I was inspired indeed by them. They made a great pair together when they were 'running the show'. Haa.

After that, Dennis had a session with us about careers and interest. I kinda like swam into the INVESTIGATE 'island'. I met friends there and started building our life-saving boat. We built a simple yet workable boat. However, we had so much plans in our heads that we don't have enough time to carry them out. In the end, the boat kinda floated but crashed abit during the 'fall'. We didn't expect that 'in the middle of the sea'. LOL.

After lunch, those alumni went back here and shared their past experience with us. It was funny when they went into a field which is not directly related to the course they studied. But it was nice for them to share it. Later, we had that O.P.T.I.O.N.S session. Those alphabets meant so much.

Fun time. I was grouped into Group 6. Yeah! I met so many friends and played so many games with them. We did our best in every activities and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. Nice time mates! Those activities were fun and exciting especially when we had a 'shoes fight' instead of pillow fight. Haa. We came up with the strategy first. Haa. The 'train' thingy was fun and exhausting too. We persevered throughout all the activities. Right?

Dinner was served in the bakery. After some rest, I headed back to MPH for more activities. When I walked into MPH, I saw the video 'Nobody'. A thought went across my mind - 'Dance?'. I was right and I had bad feeling about it. However, when I started to dance along with my group mates, it was so much fun that I forgot that I don't dance. I blended in with them and dance along with the music happily. I was surprised when Group 6 did the best dance! I wanted more dance. Bah...

After dances, we had an activity which we need to cross over the other side through 'holes'. With the help of everyone, we tried to pass everyone through one by one. I was one of them. I felt like, ah family. Haa. All passed through except two as we ran out of chances. Haa. I was even more surprised when Group 6 was announced as the best group by Dr.Sia. Yeah! We got hats. We are all leaders in the group! yeah!

We didn't stop there. We went to the bakery for the night. I had a fun time drinking and eating with all my friends that I met in the camp. Yahoo! I even watched FIFA World Cup. We chatted and laughed at jokes. When we were playing Truth or Dare, we laughed more and couldn't stop there. Haa. Details, please refer to facebook. Haa. In the Truth or Dare, there were so many highlights that I can't finish blogging. Fun and nice. This lasted until about 12a.m. Then I went to split ways with them to the snooker room to meet my school friends. When I was on the way back, I saw them playing basketball. I joined in and played with them until 1a.m. again. So much fun! Haa. I shot in two balls. I was happy and energized. After the match, I walked back with them to the hostel. Actually we chatted for a longer time then only we entered our hostel. Haa. Thanks for the fun to Shu Ren, Lydia, Jia Wern, Nishant, Ricky, Wei Yang, Ariff, Leow, Jing Lun and Jin Fai. Haa. Yeah!

Youth Empowerment Camp (YEC) - Day 1

Oh yes. My holiday was so packed and fun that I'll never be the same again. Two weeks earlier, I was informed of the INTI-IU Youth Empowerment Camp 10 by my friends and the email. Interview and YEC. Okay. I sent my information and whatever they need to INTI. Transportation in the form of INTI bus was provided. I still remember that I replied one of the message asking 'how can I identify the transport?' The reply from INTI was 'INTI bus.' Oh, special man. Haa.

So there I packed my bags the other day and hopped into the INTI bus with one thing in my mind - 'Go have fun .' The bus was designed for 44 passengers but ended up with about 15 passengers in it. The air-con was chilly with so little heat and carbon dioxide exhaled in the bus. I chatted with friends, listened to some songs, and watched Eric playing PSP in the bus. Nice. After about 3 hours plus, we arrived at INTI-IU Nilai. I was like, so many trees and bushes, is universities like this. Then, I saw the building blocks.

We had lunch and waited for the interview. We went in when our names were called. The interview was not what I expected to be, instead it was more like a normal and simple conversation. Nice. Later, we had dinner in the bakery. I was told about the Beau Bristow and David Story's tour. I joined it as admission was free. I had a wonderful time listening to the creative songs. I bought a T-shirt signed by them. Yeah!

The first day was simply nice. I had an enjoyable day with my friends. And I slept well.

To be continued...

FIFA & Treasure Hunt

FIFA World Cup 2010 had kicked-off in South Africa last week. I am still in the fever now. A month's fever. Group matches were not that exciting. Until now, there were a few nice matches which did not make me feel like sleeping on the couch. Oh, that's nice.

England's slip was unexpected. Germany's big win was great. Well, we'll see who will take the golden cup back home in the final next month. Haa. Actually I watched the Kick-off Concert in a series of split show. I watched the first half on one day and completed the second half on the other day. It was amazing. I like the World Cup songs very much. I love that passion and feel in those songs sang clearly in the concert, well only those which I understood. African songs by the 'Queen of African Music' was nice too. She had a wonderful voice. Most Africans do, it's just I don't understand a word they sang. Maybe I should learn more languages in the future. It would be nice.

Life's had been more about the same in the holiday. I'd been here and there, doing stuffs like this and that to pass my time. It had been a nice holiday break so far with plenty of great experience and fun. One of them was the treasure hunt by Sin Chew Daily yesterday, in Old Town of Ipoh.

Well, let me tell you one thing I learnt. Ipoh is really an old town. Believe me. If development don't take place, it's gonna get older. We were searching for clues and name of historical places all over the old town, guided by the only hand-drawn map provided by the organizer. I was like, 'What happen to Google Map?'. Okay, back to basic senses. We roamed the streets under the blazing sunlight. The clues were rather awkward. There was one time that we went to a part of the map where we were like spinning in circles. Haa. However, we got through in the end.

In the park, we played games to add marks to your 'campaign'. Rather like a child, we played child games and had fun, but not really nice scores. There was a urge to jump into that children pool only for kids in that park. Chill. After the games, we walked into the primary school's hall and submitted our answers with 'gifts' bought and brought back for the organizers. Awkwardly, they gave more back to us after we gave them ours. Don't waste. Haa. We waited long enough in the hall for the presentation of photos and answers. I was like, 'Hey, why most of the photos are girls, especially nice ones?' Okay. When we were announced the 6th place, I was shocked and on cloud nine. 074. Well, 007 is not fat away. Haa. Grab some bucks and waited for my ride home.

Nice Sunday and enjoyable roam around the so-called Old Town. Ah, it's the 21st century. Life move on. XD
By the way, nice preview. :)

The start of holiday

Geez. I'm returning to midnight bloggin'. Near midnight now. Just finished my exam papers today. My holiday starts now. So will FIFA World Cup 2010.

Holiday's schedule is quite packed. This holiday is not that long but not that short, just like something in between when you can't do much. I think I'm gonna spend most of my time on entertainment, including facebook, chat, tv etc. I want to active my blog again since it was kinda frozen throughout my exam period. Haa. Did it reach the absolute zero temperature? Hope no. Haa.

imbored. I'm passing my time with bloggie. With the Astro B.yond, HD tv was cool. I like the HD channels such as National Geographic and HBO. I can even see the wrinkles of those old men in the History HD. Lol. Goin to have a treasure hunt this Sunday. No idea how it will be, just going to have fun. Hey peeps, who's still stayin' up late now?

one thing, why people keep changing their profile pictures and liking those long statements recently? oh man.

SIMC 4.0 - x

Urm. I lost track. Okay.

Day 4 - The On-Site Challenge Presentation. We needed to present our challenge solution to four judges in four different classrooms or labs. Some of the classrooms are air-conditioned while we went into a catalyst room which was new to us. The SIMC presentation was rather fun except the Q & A part. Haa. After that, we had lunch and followed by an educational trip to Science Center and Marina Barrage of Singapore. I went to the science center before in primary school trip. It did not change much. The Marina Barrage was new and nice. Windy and amazing. I liked the view and concept of the Marina Barrage, but kinda bored by the exhibition room. Haa. Youth Olympic Games is coming soon.

Later, the closing ceremony was held in the auditorium. I liked the speech delivered by the professor from Hong Kong - the chief judge. An idea is a good idea. The only bad idea is no idea. I think that was what he said. Haa. That night, we had dinner and farewell party. The slideshow was nice and almost touching. Well, I didn't play that game, but it looked fun. Haa. Not gonna write Day 5 as I went to KL on the next day without following the bus with my friends. So long Singapore, till we meet again.

Starwalk 2010. Not just a walk.

Starwalk. It was like the event of the year with people from all walks of life rushing into the stadium, with me in between the entrance. Gosh, my mind went like 'highpressure, low speed', explaining the slow moving of crowds and delay of the walk in the morning. I registered and took the blue wristband quickly in search of my friends. Well, I found some and decided to walk with others in the end. Lol. Just enjoying the morning walk. I liked to move between people and advancing further ahead. Well, without running, I like Starwalk. However, not everyone was walking. In fact, most of them were half-running and half-walking while some ran all the way. Gosh, some even took shortcuts. Cowards. You thought you were fast. I can see 'that'.

I kept walking the long way which promised more sceneries and sight-seeing. I walked and looked ahead. I kept thinking that I will reach soon. Lol. My legs were aching somehow. I walked through somehow. Yet I finished the walk without running and got a certificate somehow. Haa. An uncle even told those who ran were just too eager for certs or winning. He said, 'The walk is only a race against time, not human.' How inspiring! I passed him and continued my journey. Honestly, I thought it was a 5km walk. But when I'm finished, my friend told me it was a 10km walk. My reaction was like, 'really?'. xD

Then, I went for drinks in the 100Plus and Spritzer Booths and food as breakfast. I chatted for awhile and wandered around for a bit before I walked to the side for the variety show. There were singing performance, magic show, dance show and more. The lucky draw was long and in vain as I didn't get any lucky numbers. Geez. I sat there and enjoyed the show for the day. Haa. I heard some of my friends won some medals. Nice. Good job. This year's Starwalk was one of my favourite times as I enjoyed the times and experience. Sweat is nothing.

SIMC Part 2.0 - 3.0

Day 2 - Day 3

These two days were the On-site challenge preparation period. The release of the On-site challenge was made in the morning. Then, we had this yellow envelope with CD, papers, maps.etc. The organizer explained some general rules and deadlines. Haa. Later, we were led to our classroom by our SLOs. Damn, the classroom had six fans compared to two, with less pupils. Geez. So fun. So nice. So fully equipped. We started our challenge. Well, I read the questions first then pondered awhile. My first thought was 'what. now what?'. But then we wasted much time. We started late and rushed a bit to get it done by Day 4 noon for the report. The presentation was done in minutes. Haa. It was okay but not so good as we didn't have that much info. We had chats, walk, music, fun, anything on these two days. We were too bored. Why two days period? I wonder. Facebook was one of the pastime. I even strolled around to enjoy some sight-seeing in NUS. Nice school to study in. Wish this was my school.

Guys, there's still more days. Figures.

SIMC Part 1.1

Still Day 2. In fact, after the opening ceremony, we had our poster presentation to the VIPs. Okay. But then was the cultural immersion trip. Nice one. First, I think I was assigned to a group to mix around. Ice-breaking. Playin those games again, calling names or like childhood games which I barely remember. Haa. I was like blurred all the way till the end. Still thinkin who the heck thought of those games. LOL.

Well, time flies again, time for the trip. Yea, at last I was on the bus. Dr.Mark gave us each one 'card' and 10 dollars to spend on. Okay. We went to Chinatown. We roamed around temple there, to mosque, indian temple, ate egg tarts, city hall exhibition and Bugis Street. Well, mostly was shopping which I was not that into. Haa. Anyway, we proceeded to Marina Square, Marina Bay, Esplanade, Helix Bridge later. That part was the best. I like sceneries better than shopping. Haa. Oh yeah!

Later that night, I was sleeping sweetly. So nice.
