Soap !

Experiments are just nice, nicer when you did it with a bunch of friends.

Our Chemistry teacher instructed us to conduct an experiment to produce soap. By following the apparatus and material list, we picked and took the required items. Ah, there they were. I like Chemistry very much, after Physics. I just like to mix this and that, then BOOM - another 'that' came out. How miraculous. I'm always fascinated by the work of science and its application. To be honest, I'm tired of theories taught without any practical work. That will be just like reading a book about flying an airplane without actually flying one. I like practical work or experiments very much as they are quite rare in my school. Teachers just don't let us do that much. So I was excited whenever there will be one.

I enjoyed every part of the experiment, including the chat with my friends to pass the waiting time. It was total fun. I enjoyed stirring, mixing the solutions, heating, cooling, filtration, crystallization, etc. Time flies, an hour of Chemistry just passed when the bell rang. Oh my, but I ain't going to recess until I made my soap, from olive oil and palm oil. We made soaps from both oils. Great. At last, we finished it. It smelled, soap-like. The touch was soap-like too. Okay, it was soap. Haa. Nice.

I took part in a Physics quiz too. Don't think I did great. Hope for the best!

More experiments, please!

A blasting 40th STSL Annual Dinner

Well, I mean 'blasting' as in literally rocking the dance floor kind of blasting. Whether you feel the same way or not, I was happy. It was held in the Heritage Hotel's ballroom.

Oh man, I was surprised to see the crowd gathered in front of the entrance when I reached there. I was looking for my fellow buddies. They dressed up smartly. I can hardly recognize them without a second look. The girls were dazzling too, maybe hours of make-up did paid off, or maybe not. They were eye-catching as always. I found them by the corner, in front of the door, by the elevator - almost everywhere. Some were even playing in the elevator, up and down it went. Here he was, the head librarian Yi Xuan standing by the door looking great welcoming the guests, including me. I shook hands with him and congratulated everyone. Have fun!

The show was going to start soon. The ballroom was sparkling brightly. Well, maybe it was the shining crystal glass light above the ceiling or maybe it was the wonderful guests we had in it. Nice. The event was started with some video clips dated back from 37th until 40th - the newest one. The 40th video was splendid and funny. The RFAs and Kien Leong danced nice. Time-wrap. Dimensions crossed each other in hyperspace. Bah!

Next, it was like the never-ending of ceremonies, speeches and souvenir-giving sessions. It was nicely done and smiles on the VIPs' faces. They were happy too. Kee Min, Li Yong, Kien Leong, Weng Sie and Ting Fang were the MCs. Good job! There were sessions such as prize-giving, handover ceremony and performance by Li Yong with the electric guitar. He was awesome playing it, plus the touching ending. He's the man!

Im trying to cut this post short. So ain't gonna tell on the buffet dinner and all those weird stuffs happened then. XD

I was voted as the Best Comm with 58 votes. Thanks for everyone's support! I felt great. I will not forget what I had been through these years with you all. Old and new, it meant very much to me. You all made a place in my heart.

The photo-taking session - we turned this upside down. Nobody went on queue or whatever. We went in groups of tens. Snapshots, group shots, flashes from different cameras would have lighten up the place even without the ceiling lights. XD

Everything has an end, including the annual dinner. They went for second round. I wasn't going, waiting by the door. Oh man, how much I savour those moments.

My Last Duty Shift

im lost. Lost track of time. Bla bla bla.

Cheers. It's near the trial of my Form Five life. Gonna take the papers next month and then the final test - SPM at year's end. What a life! Half of the year passed and what I did was already uncountable. I can't really recall everything and pick up all those pieces of life-images to complete my life-drawing. What I can do, is only remember as much as I can, those memorable ones, important ones, unforgettable ones, amazing ones... wonders...

Oh yea. It was my last duty shift for the year. I'm gonna miss everybody, including my duty librarians, friends, buddies and companions. Honestly, those duty librarians can be aloud and chatterbox-like. They were cool and nice. They did their work nicely and happily. I don't think they like me much, especially my nagging. Hope you all won't mind. I appreciate the cooperation and joy with you all during the time, even though it was just 3 hours. The duty was relatively short but meaningful. Don't you all think so?

The first and last treat by me! Haa. Well, I bought boxes of pizza to treat all my duty librarians and my friends. I'm glad it was enough to fill everyone's appetite. The pizza was finished in a flash by a handful of hands once the box was opened. Oh my, the rate of 'reaction' was superb. Was it nice and fun?

Tomorrow's AGM. Annual dinner's around the corner too. Looking forward to it. XD

Dickson's back!

What a week I had with my friends especially with Dickson who came back here all the way from Australia. As I remember, he had been friends with me since primary school. Nice. He went to Australia and came back for the first time. We had so many plans for him in the week. So many laughters and fun, to share every happy moments together. That's something wonderful.

At first, I received a text from him. But I was takin' a nap. Geez. Then, I had to call everyone for the meet-up. Then, it was me, Chuan, Dickson at Old Town Kopitiam near Ipoh field, chatting for about two hours. Ah, we had this conversation going on and on until my lips dried. Well, drinking the white coffee will help. That was it.

On Wednesday, we had an unexpected visit of Dickson to the school. Oh, he was like Mr.Popular. Haa. Crowds of students which are his friends chatted and meet up with him as he strolled around the school and into classes. I bet he felt nice and happy to be back even though our school is kinda stuffy.

On Thursday, I thought it gonna be Burger King. But then I headed to Pappa Rich for the first time and had my first meal there. Wasn't that bad. We had a stroll across De Garden to Jusco. Ah, the traffic was like, 'hey, don't cross the road! the road's mine'. Drivers were so fast. Had to wait for the traffic lights. Movie time. We bought tickets for the Flirting Scholar 2 there. We chatted and went in for the movie, or rather freakin' funny comedy. That was great. I laughed at the jokes and stared at the screen when the jokes are too weird. HAA. In fact, we all laughed and watched with awe. We came out of the cinema with bright smiles on our faces. Nicee....

On Friday, time to play ball! oh man, geez, the basketball court had no hoops. Ah, Ren Chet took a football there. We played futsal in Meru instead. We had so much fun running up and down the place, kicking the ball flying over the sky, into the 'goal'. Nicee.. Meru was so nice and cooling. After the rain, the whole valley was like autumn. Great weather. Then, we had to go the clubhouse for bath. Geez, the freakin' fees. So we headed to Ren Chet's house for bath instead. His house was like huge and spacious. Full of gadgets and gizmo's. I like it. Haa. For dinner, we went back to the clubhouse. During the meal and after it, we chatted again on miscellaneous stuff, random ones. Dickson let us watch photos and even a view of his place through Google Map. Nicee...We ended the day with a nice and happy note. Gracious.

Back to school. XD

Back to school. This line seems to be quite common, or rather lame. But I am really back to school. I took the results of the earlier mid-year examination this week. The results were okay except for Chinese which I need to struggle and improve it abit. Abit wasn't even enough, I reckon. Being a Chinese but can't get excellent result for Chinese is kinda weird to me. I don't wanna be a banana. LOL. Otherwise, my result sheet can be a lot weirder with that B+.

Damn, I hate myself for being that into FIFA World Cup. Fever indeed. I was watching football matches everyday. This year, World Cup was certainly interesting with all those unexpected turnovers and upset. Italy and France checked out and booked air tickets home early in group stage. The reigning champion was not up to Slovakia's challenge. Surprisingly, South Africa sweep France home with their first win in World Cup. Both Italy and France can't even get a win this year. Weird. England made an early exit too after losing to Germany strong side. One thing for sure, that shot by Lampard was certainly in and a GOAL, but the referee didn't gave it. That was so controversial that replay can even confirm it. That's what made World Cup more interesting. Portugal's complete dominance over North Korea was even impressing. Gonna watch Netherlands tonight. XD

After all, my life's mine. I live the way I want it to be. I am happy with my results but I know that I can do better, hopefully in SPM - I can get straight As. My future will not be entirely determined by destiny or luck. I write my own future. I walk my own way. XD

p/s: Dickson's back. Hee.

Youth Empowerment Camp (YEC) - Day 2

It was an early morning when I woke up. I took my breakfast in the multipurpose hall(MPH). Then, I listened to what Mr.Boh and Dr.Sia had to say. They talked a great deal on change and passion. I was inspired indeed by them. They made a great pair together when they were 'running the show'. Haa.

After that, Dennis had a session with us about careers and interest. I kinda like swam into the INVESTIGATE 'island'. I met friends there and started building our life-saving boat. We built a simple yet workable boat. However, we had so much plans in our heads that we don't have enough time to carry them out. In the end, the boat kinda floated but crashed abit during the 'fall'. We didn't expect that 'in the middle of the sea'. LOL.

After lunch, those alumni went back here and shared their past experience with us. It was funny when they went into a field which is not directly related to the course they studied. But it was nice for them to share it. Later, we had that O.P.T.I.O.N.S session. Those alphabets meant so much.

Fun time. I was grouped into Group 6. Yeah! I met so many friends and played so many games with them. We did our best in every activities and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. Nice time mates! Those activities were fun and exciting especially when we had a 'shoes fight' instead of pillow fight. Haa. We came up with the strategy first. Haa. The 'train' thingy was fun and exhausting too. We persevered throughout all the activities. Right?

Dinner was served in the bakery. After some rest, I headed back to MPH for more activities. When I walked into MPH, I saw the video 'Nobody'. A thought went across my mind - 'Dance?'. I was right and I had bad feeling about it. However, when I started to dance along with my group mates, it was so much fun that I forgot that I don't dance. I blended in with them and dance along with the music happily. I was surprised when Group 6 did the best dance! I wanted more dance. Bah...

After dances, we had an activity which we need to cross over the other side through 'holes'. With the help of everyone, we tried to pass everyone through one by one. I was one of them. I felt like, ah family. Haa. All passed through except two as we ran out of chances. Haa. I was even more surprised when Group 6 was announced as the best group by Dr.Sia. Yeah! We got hats. We are all leaders in the group! yeah!

We didn't stop there. We went to the bakery for the night. I had a fun time drinking and eating with all my friends that I met in the camp. Yahoo! I even watched FIFA World Cup. We chatted and laughed at jokes. When we were playing Truth or Dare, we laughed more and couldn't stop there. Haa. Details, please refer to facebook. Haa. In the Truth or Dare, there were so many highlights that I can't finish blogging. Fun and nice. This lasted until about 12a.m. Then I went to split ways with them to the snooker room to meet my school friends. When I was on the way back, I saw them playing basketball. I joined in and played with them until 1a.m. again. So much fun! Haa. I shot in two balls. I was happy and energized. After the match, I walked back with them to the hostel. Actually we chatted for a longer time then only we entered our hostel. Haa. Thanks for the fun to Shu Ren, Lydia, Jia Wern, Nishant, Ricky, Wei Yang, Ariff, Leow, Jing Lun and Jin Fai. Haa. Yeah!

Youth Empowerment Camp (YEC) - Day 1

Oh yes. My holiday was so packed and fun that I'll never be the same again. Two weeks earlier, I was informed of the INTI-IU Youth Empowerment Camp 10 by my friends and the email. Interview and YEC. Okay. I sent my information and whatever they need to INTI. Transportation in the form of INTI bus was provided. I still remember that I replied one of the message asking 'how can I identify the transport?' The reply from INTI was 'INTI bus.' Oh, special man. Haa.

So there I packed my bags the other day and hopped into the INTI bus with one thing in my mind - 'Go have fun .' The bus was designed for 44 passengers but ended up with about 15 passengers in it. The air-con was chilly with so little heat and carbon dioxide exhaled in the bus. I chatted with friends, listened to some songs, and watched Eric playing PSP in the bus. Nice. After about 3 hours plus, we arrived at INTI-IU Nilai. I was like, so many trees and bushes, is universities like this. Then, I saw the building blocks.

We had lunch and waited for the interview. We went in when our names were called. The interview was not what I expected to be, instead it was more like a normal and simple conversation. Nice. Later, we had dinner in the bakery. I was told about the Beau Bristow and David Story's tour. I joined it as admission was free. I had a wonderful time listening to the creative songs. I bought a T-shirt signed by them. Yeah!

The first day was simply nice. I had an enjoyable day with my friends. And I slept well.

To be continued...
